Dons interim head coach Pete Green was impressed with the way his side created opportunities in thier  50-24 win over Hemel Stags.

Richie Barnett, Tom Carr and Jason Tali all managed to get over the Stags line twice in the game but Green wants the team to be more clinical when the chances arise.

“We came away with the result and that is exactly what we wanted, we have been good in training and it was always going to be tough,” said Green

“We created a lot of opportunities in the first half but we jus t have to make sure that we keep taking the chances when we get them.

“I know it’s a cliché, but we have to take every game as it comes, we have a hard month coming up but we talk about ourselves being realistically up there for promotion and the lads are looking forward to the challenge.”

Green returned to action for the Dons for the first time since 2009 and the former captain says he is happy to be back.

"I spoke to a large majority of the lads when I was thinking about returning to play and they all urged me come back, and I’m very happy to be back,” said Green

“There is a good mood in the dressing room after this win, we conceded a lot more points than we would have wanted, it is a relief to get that first win which has taken us up to fourth.

“It was really good to get back out there and pull the Dons shirt back on again, the lads really helped me through it but as a team we have a lot to tidy up on.”
