The Dons have signed utility-back Reece Dean from Toronto Wolfpack on a deal until the end of the season.

Dean previously spent time with the club in 2016 as part of the dual-registration system with Super League side Hull FC, and will now add to the competition for places at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The 20–year-old left Hull last year before joining the Canadian outfit, and now has his sights set on a strong season with the Dons.

“I’m buzzing to get some game time under my belt, I want to be back enjoying playing rugby league and I enjoyed my time here last season,” he said.

“Hopefully the time I spent here on dual-reg will help me to settle in quickly, I know a few players and I’ve played with the majority of them so I should be able to fit in.”

Interim head coach Pete Green was delighted to get the deal done, and welcomed even more competition to an already strong Dons squad.

“Signing Reece will add to the depth of the squad, he can play in a number of positions which makes us more flexible as we go up against different opponents,” he said.

“He’s played here before so will fit into the squad easily, he will have to work for his place in the team like every other player does so it adds even more competitiveness within the team.”
