PREVIEW | Dean looking ahead

PREVIEW | Dean looking ahead

2nd June 2017

Recent signing Reece Dean is looking forward to making his second Dons debut after settling in quickly to familiar surroundings.

Dean joined on a deal until the end of the season and believes his short stint with the club in 2016 has helped him get going straight away.

“I’ve had a few training sessions, the coaching staff know what they’re doing and it’s good to get back down here,” he said.

“A lot of the lads were here last time, there are a few new players so I’ll hopefully get to know them over the next few weeks.

“The structures and plays are mainly the same which helps me in the position I play, it won’t take long before I get some consistency into my game.”

The Dons face a trip to Cumbria this weekend as they face Workington Town in Kingstone Press League One, and Dean says the game will be a strong test of their character.

“We’ve got to take each game as it comes, we’ve got a lot of travelling to do this month but all we’re doing is trying to beat the team in front of us,” he added.

“We’ll prepare right over the weekend, it’s all about resting up ahead of a long journey up to Workington and we’ll be ready for a tough game.

“They’re a big side, it will be a test down the middle on what is a very small pitch. As long as we compete and stay in the arm wrestle then I think we’ve got the players to get a good result.”
