PREVIEW | Hall ready for challenge

3rd June 2017

Chief executive Carl Hall feels the Dons are ready for a tough month ahead of games against three Cumbrian teams in Kingstone Press League One.

They make the trip to face Workington Town this weekend with interim coaches Pete Green and Rhys Lovegrove set for their third game in charge, and Hall believes the pair have done a good job so far.

“The coaches that are in charge now are fully aware of the direction the club wants to go in, and we want a coaching team to work with,” he said.

“The Keighley game was massive for us, we managed to get a good result in a tricky encounter where we had a few players out through injury.

“We’ve had a week off when I think the players would have preferred to keep the momentum going, but it gave us a chance to get some players right for the Workington game.”

The game against Workington provides the Dons with an opportunity to make it three league wins in a row and Hall is optimistic of their chances.

“It doesn’t matter whether the teams you face up north are doing well or not, it’s always going to be a tough game and we need to go there in the right frame of mind to get the two points,” he added.

“Workington will come right at us and get stuck in, we watched their game against Hunslet and that was another physical battle.

“We want to win all the games, we’re fourth at the minute but we want to keep progressing and pick up as many points as possible.”
