PREVIEW | Miller feeling confident

14th July 2017

Half-back Jack Miller is enjoying being a consistent part of the Dons starting XIII as they look for a third win on the bounce when they take on Gloucestershire All Golds this weekend.

Miller is in fine form himself having scored three tries in his past two games and believes a regular run of games under head coach Richard Horne has benefitted him.

“I’ve been enjoying my rugby in the past few weeks, the new head coach has come in and built some confidence while creating a bit of a buzz around the place,” he said.

“At the start of the year I was struggling for a regular run in the side, but now with a run of games under my belt I’m feeling good on the field.

“Both for me personally and for the team, I feel as though we’re becoming more consistent every week as partnerships start to blossom.”

The Dons must win against the All Golds and hope for results elsewhere to go their way if they are to finish the regular campaign in fourth spot but Miller says they are only focused on one thing.

“Everyone wanted to finish in that top four and we had a chance to do it but fell short in the regular season, we need a bit of luck this weekend with other results,” he added.

“We need to do our job against the All Golds and take care of ourselves, we’ll look where we’re at after the game and see where we finish.

“We can’t be slipping up, if we stick to our game plan and play to our potential then we know we’ll pick up the two points.”
