Liam Harris believes the Dons will learn a lot from their Good Friday defeat to York City Knights in Betfred League One.

The Dons were beaten 16-14 in their first loss of 2018, and half-back Harris wants the team to take the positives and look to improve.

He said: "We're gutted to lose by a couple of points in a game like that, I thought we had plenty of opportunities to win the game but we weren't clinical enough when we needed to be.

"We're frustrated with letting them go in front with the penalties but we also missed a couple of good chances to score at the other end so that's where we've lost it.

"We'll review it and go over it but I think a lot of us know where we went wrong and the areas which we need to improve, so we'll work on that and be better for it in the long run."

Harris spent the majority of last season playing for York, and enjoyed going up against a number of his old teammates.

He added: "I had a bit of banter from a few of the York lads but I was expecting that, I spent pretty much all year there last year so that comes with the territory.

"There was always going to be players coming together because it meant so much to both sides, that showed and we're all disappointed we couldn't get the win.

"It's only the fourth game in so it won't define our season, it's about how we respond to the defeat and we'll get another shot at them later on in the season."

The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on North Wales Crusaders on Sunday April 8. You can purchase tickets from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
