Richard Horne praised his side's ability to get the job done after the 28-20 win over North Wales Crusaders in Betfred League One.

The Dons trailed by two points at the break, but scored four second-half tries to secure their fourth league victory of the season.

Horne said: "Our start wasn't the best and we knew they would be up for it, they had a new coach and wanted to impress so we struggled in the first-half.

"They had a couple of plays pulled back and will probably feel they should have executed them better to put more points on us.

"Credit to the boys, they took on the advice I gave them at half-time and scored a couple of tries nice and early, once we got our lead we did enough to see it out."

The win moved the Dons back to the top of the table, and Horne says the result was always going to be the most important thing.

He added: "It wasn't a great performance but it's two points on the board, they will turn some teams over in this league so we've done well to come through it.

"We'd worked all week on dealing with them and we knew they would throw a lot at us in attack, they had done well previously against some good sides.

"We moved players around and Richard Owen has played a lot on the wing throughout his career, he's great to have in the team and Hakim gives us the threat out the back."

The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Hemel Stags on Sunday April 15, you can purchase tickets from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
