PREVIEW | Hedges ready to go

Jordie Hedges believes preparation will be key as the Dons get ready to make the journey to face West Wales Raiders.

The Raiders are bottom of the Betfred League One table and without a point to their name so far, but Hedges says they won't be taken lightly.

He said: "It's a long way to travel down on a bus and it won't be too much fun, but it's got to be done and we've had a short week in the build-up to get ready for it.

"I think the pressure is on us slightly given their results in the past couple of games, we need a good start and play our natural game then the score-line will take care of itself.

"We need to complete our sets and not try to offload when it's not on, if we stick to the game plan and everyone does the basics right then the game will go our way."

Hedges missed the win against London Skolars last weekend with a slight injury niggle, but is ready to go this weekend as he looks to push on for the remainder of the season.

He added: "I had a little bit of a break and a chance to rest up a couple of knocks I had, and now I am ready to go and buzzing to get back out there at the weekend.

"The squad has been rotated and Rich has stated from day one that if you come into the side and play well then you'll keep the shirt and that is good for us.

"We have to be scoring points every week to keep in touch with the teams above us, at the end of the year it could come down to points difference so it's important that we stay close to them."

The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday May 20 to take on Hunslet in Betfred League One, tickets are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
