PREVIEW | Horne looking for performance

12th May 2018

Richard Horne says the Dons' performance will be the most important thing against West Wales Raiders this weekend.

Horne's side have only lost two games in Betfred League One this season, and he wants to see more of a complete performance against the league's bottom side.

He said: "Speaking to the boys we know that our performance is the most important thing this weekend, whatever the result will be then we know our performance has to be good.

"We will show West Wales the respect they deserve, and we have some things to deal with ourselves in terms of the long journey so our start in the game is key.

"We just want the two points and to remain challenging at the top end, if our performance is good then the result will come with that so we're looking forward to it."

Horne is expected to rotate his squad with a busy month of league action coming up, and he has confidence that the players he has selected will do a good job.

He added: "We've got a really tough month coming up against some big teams who are in and around us so anyone carrying any knocks won't be playing at the weekend to make sure they're fresh.

"We've got players who have come into the team that have found some form, as long as they keep that up then they give themselves every chance to stay in the team.

"It's a tough one and the mental challenge is the biggest one with a trip like this, the weather is going to be warm so the boys need to stay hydrated and fuelled up."

The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday May 20 to take on Hunslet in Betfred League One, tickets are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
