Richard Owen is looking forward to getting back on home soil when the Dons take on Hunslet this weekend. The Dons return to the Keepmoat Stadium after two weeks on the road in Betfred League One, and Owen wants to make up for lost time.

He said: "We've had a couple of long trips and the boys have had to be really on their game to get the two wins like we have, we travelled almost six hours to West Wales and put 70 points on them so we were happy with that.

"We've made hard work of a few games but hopefully we can build on that, if we can put more complete performances together then we are more than a match for any team in this league.

"I think a few of the boys have played for or know some of the lads from Hunslet so everyone is out to get one over on each other, it's important that we make the Keepmoat Stadium a fortress this year."

Owen has four tries so far in what is his first season with the club, and has been impressed with the overall quality of the squad since signing at the end of last year.

He added: "Everyone at the club is great, everyone is keen to learn and Rich is giving us tips which he's learning at Hull, we've had some of their players down here as well which has helped us.

"Myself and Boyley have a big role to play in terms of motivating the lads and making sure the heads are right going into games against teams who are down the bottom, every game is as important as the last.

"The main thing for me is being able to guide the team around the field from the full-back position, I've got to be there to pull people around and use what I've learnt in my career to benefit the team."

Tickets for the game against Hunslet are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
