Richard Horne says the Dons will look to improve their squad in key areas after the departure of Liam Harris to Hull FC.

The half-back has joined the Black and Whites on a two-and-a-half-year-deal, and Horne says he is already looking to strengthen his side.

He said: "As a club we couldn't hold Liam back, it's everybody's dream to play in Super League and what they are striving to do, we didn't expect him to go as early as he has but we're really happy for him.

"We're down a half now but it gives us an opportunity to have a look in other areas where we can strengthen, we wouldn't release a player without being able to bring a couple in.

"We're in talks with players as it stands and we're looking to do something with them to ensure we've got a healthy squad going forward this season."

The Dons face Hunslet at the Keepmoat Stadium this weekend, as they come up against former coach Gary Thornton in Betfred League One.

Horne added: "I'm sure they will come here pumped up and wanting to get one over on us, but it's important that we focus on ourselves and look at areas of our game that we need to tidy up.

"We've got a few lads who are still here from Gary's time at the club, I'm sure they will want to show how far they have come on and if we perform to our capabilities I'm confident we will get the result.

"I think they've played the better sides in the division so far and have picked up some good results against Oldham and Newcastle, so we know we will have to play well on the day."

Tickets for the game against Hunslet at the Keepmoat Stadium are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
