Russ Spiers is looking forward to this weekend's clash with Workington Town in Betfred League One.

The prop forward returned from injury against Keighley last time out, and was glad to be back part of a winning side.

He said: "I missed a couple of games and I don't like to be sat on the sidelines, it was good to be back out there with the boys last weekend and now hopefully we can kick-on against Workington.

"The results weren't great while I was out of the team, it was tough watching the mistakes we were making and not being able to go out there on the pitch and do anything about it.

"We've worked hard in training to clean things up and stop giving too many penalties away, it's a small pitch at Workington so we don't want to be putting ourselves under too much pressure."

Spiers scored a last minute winner in a 30-26 victory over the Cumbrian side last season, and is looking for more of the same when the two sides meet on Sunday.

He added: "It's a big test for us and Workington is always a tough place to go, we just have to make sure we handle the travel and conditions up there.

"I managed to get over in the last minute there last season so it was a nice moment for me, and things like that always makes it an easier trip back after the game.

"A defeat could see us drop a couple of places in the table so we're all desperate to get the win, teams around us will be looking to put the pressure on."
