PREVIEW | Horne expecting physical test

8th September 2018

Richard Horne is expecting a battle down the middle against Keighley Cougars this weekend.

The Dons travel to Cougar Park in fine form, but the head coach knows they will be tested by their Yorkshire rivals.

He said: “It’s going to be tough, they’re very good at their place and got a good result against Newcastle there as well.

“They’ve lost a few players and I’m sure they’re hurting from the last time we played them, they had their foot in the door but we came back to get the win.

“They will come at us down the middle and they’re very physical, we have to make sure we’re up to dealing with that.”

After the contract renewals of Connor Bower and Kyle Kesik ahead of the game, Horne was pleased to secure those deals for 2019.

He added: “It’s a boost for us that we’ve managed to get a couple more renewals done, Kesik has earnt another year with his performances so far.

“He plays with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, he loves the club and he didn’t want to go anywhere else so he’s earnt the right for a new deal.

“Connor Bower started off really well and got into some good form, he can play in a couple of different positions as well which is important for us.”

Dons 2019 season tickets are now on sale, and can be bought from
