Richard Horne believes the Dons' preparation was key after the win against Keighley Cougars in Betfred League One.

The victory was the Dons’ eighth in a row, and the head coach was pleased with the nature of the performance.

He said: “We knew that Workington had lost which gave us an opportunity to consolidate third place, and that was the talk in the dressing room before-hand.

“We prepare well each week and don’t take any team for granted, we do our homework on them and find areas where we can hurt them.

“We’ve got a lot of players in good form at the moment. Our two back-rowers are leading that and performing really well.”

The Dons played for 50 minutes with 12 men after Jordie Hedges was sent off, but Horne felt they dealt with the dismissal well.

He added: “I’m very pleased with the way we played, despite going down to 12 men we still put in a very good performance.

“We tidied our execution up in the second-half and racked up a few points, there is still more to come from us though.

“We did enough early doors on our edge to put ourselves in front, the red card didn’t alter the game too much.”

Dons 2019 season tickets are now on sale, and can be bought from
