The Dons return to league action with a Yorkshire derby away at Keighley Cougars on Good Friday.

Richard Horne’s side currently sit sixth in the Betfred League One table after three wins so far this season, with just two points separating themselves and league leaders Hunslet.

The Cougars also have three victories to their name, but are rooted to the bottom of the table after a 12-point deduction at the start of the season.

Who’s the gaffer?

Craig Lingard returned to the club just a month after resigning last November, after off-field issues at Cougar Park. He was appointed as Keighley head coach at the start of the 2017 campaign, meaning he is now enjoying his third season in charge. As a player, Lingard spent his whole career with Batley Bulldogs, becoming a club legend after breaking the record for most tries scored for the club.

Ones to watch

Benn Hardcastle

The half-back joined Keighley ahead of the 2018 campaign after an impressive spell at Newcastle Thunder. Hardcastle left Kingston Park as the club’s record point-scorer, and added some much needed experience to the halves at Cougar Park.

Jack Miller

Well known to Dons fans, Miller joined the Cougars after leaving the Keepmoat Stadium at the end of last season. He has found his feet quickly with the West Yorkshire side, and after a hat-trick against West Wales Raiders recently, will be looking to put on an impressive display against his former side.

Jason Muranka

Another former Dons man, the Serbian international also made the switch to Cougar Park ahead of the 2019 campaign. Muranka spent two seasons with the Dons after leaving Betfred Championship side Dewsbury, and featured a number of times as Richard Horne’s side reached the play-off semi-final last season.

Last time out

Two tries from Russ Spiers saw the Dons run out comfortable 50-6 winners at Cougar Park in September 2018, and Richard Horne’s side will be looking for more of the same when the two sides meet again on Friday.
