Doncaster RLFC head coach Richard Horne felt his side's ill-discipline cost them the two points at Keighley Cougars in their Good Friday clash at Cougar Park.

The Dons went in to the half time break 18-12 up, however two tries and conversions in quick succession in the second half from the home side, and a two pointer from Ben Hardcastle sunk the Dons to another defeat in the league in 2019.

He said: "I thought we started the game poorly, even though we had opportunities, we had a couple of chances where if we'd finished them the game was probably away from them early but we didn't.

"Keighley did the basic's really well, they got to the end of their sets and completed, which we didn't do. We were poor in that aspect where we were really good against Batley.

"They deserved the win, the way they managed the whole game they were probably the better side."

After the excellent victory in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup, where Horne's men came out victors against Betfred Championship Batley Bulldogs, he was frustrated at how his team couldn't continue their form on Good Friday.

He added: "It's frustrating, It can only be a mind-set issue and a preparation thing. We've maybe gone there and taken Keighley a little lighter than we took Batley and we've come away with a little bit of egg on our face, and they did a job on us.

"We had too many errors, which were backed up by penalties, we were 60% less on completion and again they won the penalty count 10-5, we can't do that.

"They have some smart players, Miller, Hardcastle and others who know how to get teams around the park in good ball and they did that."
