Richard Horne says the Dons need to be wary of North Wales Crusaders in Betfred League One this weekend.

Horne’s side sit fifth in the table with five games of the regular season remaining, and he believes now is the time to find consistency in performances.

He said: “We’re in that middle zone where there is a battle between a few teams challenging for the play-offs, if we don’t get the result then it makes the table even closer.

“Transition was a big issue for us last week, the energy we showed to get back behind the ball wasn’t great.

“We need some more consistency as it showed when we had the same team out two weeks in a row we won both games.”

After the Welsh side beat the Dons at the Keepmoat Stadium earlier this season, Horne says his team have a point to prove at the Queensway Stadium.

He added: “They have improved a lot in the way that they play, they are very structured and both of their halves have a good kicking game.

“They have some good ball carriers so that makes them a threat, and their back-line did well against us the last time we played them.

“They aren’t a team where you can just turn up and get the win, we know we have to earn the right to win the game.”
