Matty Beharrell believes the Dons came over a potential banana skin by beating North Wales Crusaders in Betfred League One.

A 30-0 victory at Queensway Stadium saw the Dons climb to fourth in the table, and the half-back says they were keen to put in a good display.

He said: “We spoke about it being a tricky game and the focus was all on us doing our job to make sure we got the win.

“I think in patches we were very good, we still need to tidy up with the ball and learn to deal with making errors.

“The main thing for us was to show a reaction after slipping up last week, we’re chasing at the minute so we know how important every game is.”

Beharrell was influential in the win, and says the defensive side of things was the most pleasing factor.

He added: “We had a few minutes in the first-half where we didn’t touch the ball and that takes a lot out of you, and we would be punished by the better sides in the league.

“Our defence was solid and they couldn’t break us down, we were tested but it means we know we can be resolute.”
