The Dons beat Keighley Cougars 48-12 in their final home game of the regular league campaign.

Tom Halliday and Brandan Wilkinson came back into the 17 after missing a large chunk of the season through injury.

The Dons got off to the perfect start and Halliday was the man who went over, getting on the end of a perfectly time pass from Rangi Chase to score in the corner.

They were in again after a quarter of an hour, as Kyle Kesik found Brad Foster with a flat pass close to the line and the back-rower powered his way over.

It was three tries in the opening 20 minutes when quick hands saw Jordan Howden find Jason Tali who sliced through a huge gap in the Keighley line to extend the lead.

Halliday then went in for his second, after a brilliant flicked pass from Chase found the winger on half-way, and he raced away from the visiting defenders to dive over.

Richard Horne’s side started the second-half as they ended the first, with Watson Boas scoring within a minute of the restart.

The Cougars got their first points of the game after 47 minutes, as Billy Gaylor collected a loose ball and ran through to get the visitors on the board.

Normal service was soon resumed though and it was a result of more good play down the left, with Howden again playing the final pass for Halliday to go over for his hat-trick.

Keighley kept going though and scored their second when Jack Miller’s reverse kick through was pounced upon by Jason Muranka who went in for a try against his former club.

The Dons would go on to score three tries in the final 10 minutes of the game, as captain Ryan Boyle touched down Kesik’s kick through, before Connor Bower and Sam Doherty both went over on the right edge.
