Richard Horne was impressed with the start his side made in the victory over Keighley Cougars in Betfred League One.

A commanding 48-12 win in their final home game of the regular season was the perfect response to defeat at Oldham two weeks earlier.

He said: “It was probably everything we’ve been trying to do in recent weeks coming together in that opening 20 minutes or so.

“The boys showed a reaction and that’s what I wanted to see. We scored some good tries and took our chances when they came along.”

With a trip to Workington on the final game of the season, Horne says there is all to play for heading up to Cumbria.

He added: “We know that if we win our game the least that can happen is that we get a home tie in the first round of the play-offs.

“If we do our job then it puts the pressure on Hunslet in fourth and if we can climb to there we know we could have two bites at the cherry.”
