Jordan Howden believes the Dons’ work ethic will go a long way to getting them the result against Newcastle Thunder this weekend.

Richard Horne’s side travel to the north east looking to book a place in the play-off final, and Howden says they go into the game prepared to give everything for the cause.

He said: “We’re down on a few boys but every team is going through the same thing at this stage of the season so we’ll be ready no matter what.

“We will get around each other and make sure we’re working hard, there are teams that have won grand finals at the top level with depleted squads.

“The spirit and attitude has been there throughout this season but we haven’t always backed it up when we’ve had the ball.”

After the 20-6 win at Kingston Park less than two weeks ago, Howden says they are capable of beating anyone on their day.

He added: “We’ve got to play our own game and not worry about anybody else, we know what we can do and what needs to be done to get us to the final.

“If we can be good with and without the ball this weekend then that will go a long way towards getting the result.”
