NEWS | Dons return to pre-season training

13th November 2019

The Dons returned for pre-season training on November 11 as preparations for the 2020 campaign were stepped up.

Head of strength and conditioning Ed Miles says the squad will be worked hard to get them up to speed as quickly as possible.

He said: “The first week of training is all about testing the boys and seeing what sort of condition they are coming back in.

“A lot of the onus has been put on us as staff up until Christmas to get them into shape and ready for the pre-season friendlies.

“We will be monitoring the players regularly and ensuring they are making the right progress over the next few weeks.”

Head coach Richard Horne was looking forward to seeing his new recruits integrating into the squad for the first time.

He added: “With our new signings coming in for the first session it’s always good to how they fit in with the boys already here.

“We put the responsibility on the lads to look after themselves during the off-season, knowing how much they are going to be tested once they return.

“The hard work during the months are crucial to having a good season, and hopefully we will see it pay off when the 2020 campaign comes around.”
