Richard Horne says the Dons squad have hit the ground running in their first two weeks of pre-season training.

Horne’s side have been back at Castle Park since November 11, and the head coach has been pleased with what he has seen so far.

He said: “There have been a few sore bodies as the boys get back up to speed, they have been working hard in the gym.

“It’s been a really positive start, the boys have got around each other and pushed each other throughout the tough times.

“Even when you’re challenged you know you don’t get a rest and they know the work being done is to get the best out of them.”

With the Betfred League One fixtures having been announced, Horne is already looking ahead in anticipation.

He added: “It’s a tough start for us going to North Wales and they beat us at our place last season, they are a team who continue to improve each year.

“Barrow are our first opponents at the Keepmoat Stadium and they will fancy themselves to be right up there come the end of the season.

“There are some big teams in the competition and we’re going to have to be ready from the minute the season gets underway.”

The cheapest way to watch the Dons in action in 2020 is to purchase an All In season ticket from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
