NEWS | Horne wary of Skolars threat
Richard Horne believes the Dons will have to be ready for a tough contest when they head to London Skolars on Friday night.
After two weeks without a game, the head coach says they are ready to get the second-half of the season underway in the capital.
He said: “London will be up for it, they’re attracting a good crowd with it being Challenge Cup final weekend so we have to be ready for that.
“They play on a pitch that suits them, every time we’ve been to their place it’s always been a really tough game and a big contest.
“For us we try not to pay attention to what other teams are doing, we know if we keep our performance levels high we’ll be right up there at the end of the year.”
With the focus now on putting another run of results together, Horne says he has been impressed with the way the group are working for each other.
He added: “It’s a tight competition this year and every team is recruiting at present to have a bigger squad for when it comes to the business end of the season.
“We’ve got a young squad complemented by a handful of experienced players, which puts us in a good position moving forward.
“We’re creating a squad that can push us to the next step, we’ve got players desperate to improve not only themselves but the players around them.”
