NEWS | Horne: we want to end the regular season well

Richard Horne spoke to the media ahead of this weekend’s game against Keighley Cougars in Betfred League One.

The Dons end the regular season looking to make it four straight home wins having already secured their place in the play-offs.

On building momentum:

“We know if we get the result we stay where we are, we want to finish the regular season strongly.

“We’ve said it before that it’s already play-off rugby, if we win it puts us in a strong position.

“If anything it will be a good indicator as to where we’re at, we dipped a bit against Coventry so we want to be better this week.

“We did enough to get the job done last week but in these type of games you have to do more.”

On improving since facing Keighley on the opening day:

“I’d like to think Keighley will see a better version of us than what we put in on the opening day.

“We’re in a better place and we have boys with plenty of games under their belt.

“We’ve spoken to the players about discipline, it hurts you going down to 12 men whether it’s during those 10 minutes or later in the game.

“Boys end up working harder than usual and if it’s a close game you haven’t got enough fuel left in the tank to get over the line.”
