NEWS | Horne pleased with Hunslet win

Richard Horne spoke to the media after his side beat Hunslet 31-10 in the Betfred League One play-offs.

The Dons ran out comfortable winners at the Keepmoat Stadium to set up a tie at North Wales Crusaders.

On reacting well to conceding first:

“I’m proud of the lads, we lost a couple of players during the game but we adapted really well.

“They worked hard for each other and got the job done, I thought we were in control for the majority of the game.

“They scored off a well placed kick into the corner but we responded well and got ourselves back in it.”

On managing the game:

“We spoke about game management, it was probably lacking last week but we made sure they were in areas where they couldn’t hurt us.

“We knew they would trouble us close to our line but we did a really good job of keeping them away from it.

“It was massive to have the experience of Matty Beharrell and Ben Cockayne in there, it helped to guide us around the park.

“It was two good teams and we knew we’d have to get in the arm-wrestle, but our energy and enthusiasm paid off.”
