NEWS | Douglas delighted to progress

Brandon Douglas spoke to the media after the Dons beat Hunslet in the Betfred League One play-offs.

The prop scored two tries at the Keepmoat Stadium as the Dons ran out 31-10 winners.

On the forward battle:

“We’ve had a few tough games recently and the week of training we had set us up for this one.

“It was a big battle in the forwards but that’s what we’re here for, I thought we more than matched them.

“We lost Zac early and it meant the rest of us middles had a bit more work to do but we stood up to the test.”

On what the win can do for confidence:

“We’ve got momentum and a lot of positivity within the camp, it feels different to other seasons.

“In the play-offs anything can happen, it’s all about who turns up on the day and keeps their composure.

“All we can do is focus on ourselves, we know if we’re at our best we can beat anyone.

“We’re the underdogs coming from fifth but I think that gives us a determination to show where we should be.”
